We celebrate that the alliance between Seascape and Beneteau has brought about the construction of a high-performance 12-meter sailboat. Until then, no boat over 8 meters long had ever set sail for victory.
While the standard First 36 combines speed with versatility for cruising, the SE version has only one goal: to win, with all the comfort needed for a great day of racing.
To achieve significant race efficiency and maximum comfort and functionality while sailing, cutting-edge materials have been used to reduce weight and enhance the onboard experience, combined with a design that makes maneuvers easier, more precise, and pushes the boat even further. An example of this rethinking is the saving of 400 kg through the modification of the displacement by screw.
The exterior design has been carefully thought out to optimize control and efficiency during racing. It incorporates an E-Bar system with an actuator, allowing precise adjustment of the toe-in/out of the rudders while sailing, improving maneuverability and performance in different conditions.
Additionally, all visible metal elements, such as pulpits, stanchions, handrails, and cleats, are finished in matte black, providing a modern style and minimizing reflections.
The layout of the hatches and ports, with black finishes, not only maintains the boat’s aesthetic but also enhances the integration with the hull design.
The interior of the First 36 SE has been designed to maximize space and efficiency. While its spirit is sporty, it is ingenious in offering comfort such as removable crew bags and flexible storage systems.
A practical layout of two cabins and one bathroom is maintained, along with a sail locker at the bow offering great storage.
To maintain harmony with the exterior, carbon also makes an appearance on the kitchen panels, integrated fridge, and navigation table.
Technology and craftsmanship combine to achieve what once seemed impossible. For example, the hull, completely reinforced and hand-coated with vinylester.
The new boat's lightness comes from several factors, such as the use of more durable and lightweight materials, improved hydrodynamics through a redesigned bow, ultralight composite flooring, molded GRP deck coverings, and 400 kg less from the modification of the displacement.
Constantly seeking the most ingenious competitiveness. For a practical and comfortable experience, the deck has evolved to another level, offering more control with greater precision and a layout that improves racing maneuvers. We highlight the excellent work done to achieve a high-performance rig that maximizes speed and efficiency, allowing for precise sail adjustments.
