Excess was born in 2018 within the Beneteau Group, becoming a young brand and, in turn, with a strong heritage, thanks to the know-how of the shipyards that are part of the French group. Its catamarans are designed by the VPLP architects’ studio, experts and recognized in ocean regattas, and who share the same passion as Excess for making the most of the sea and enjoying the sensations of sailing.
The Excess catamarans are distinguished by combining the comfort of a multihull with the search for sensations and the sportiness of a monohull. Its distinctive feature is the double rudder that ensures emotions, provides above-average efficiency in navigation, and increases the connection of life on board, since the command post is located in the cockpit, concentrating in the same space the common areas and control of the boat.

Two years ago, we bought our Excess 14 through Hermanos Guasch in Barcelona, and the experience has been nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. From the very first contact, the human touch was unbeatable. They accompanied us throughout the entire process in a close, professional manner, with an attention to detail that made all the difference. We especially want to highlight Enric, our sales representative, who has become more than just a salesperson, almost like a friend. His involvement, patience, and warmth made us feel supported at all times. Two years after the purchase, we’re still in touch, and there’s no doubt that his closeness and willingness to help were not part of a commercial strategy, but rather a way of working based on trust and human relationships. We were lucky enough to purchase an Excess 14 catamaran through Guasch Yachts. Throughout the process Enric and the whole team have been fantastic. Always happy, can do, efficient and did exactly what we had agreed. Could not ask for any more. The boat has been fantastic, not with issues (no one should expect any different) but the attitude and experience of the Guasch team is key, I would extend that to some of the component suppliers like Garmin as well. From little question like 'why is there no water in the washing machine' that the dock engineer working on the boat next door aswered right away "you are running a drying mode" - doh, through to fitting the enclosure rail the day before departure (when it arrived from supplier) and the team coming down the day before departed Cambrils to check everything was done and we were happy. Finally Enric found us the best and perfect crew to join us on our first passage to Gibraltar. Experienced and keen to teach us about sailing our first big catamaran, relaxed but attentive, having Pep and Martina on board for those first 4 days was invaluable. I would definately recommend Guasch Yachts to anyone.

It is an agile boat, fast, extremely easy to handle even for people with little experience as in our case.
